Adirondack Technologies, Inc was founded in 1986 by Robert J. Scheidegger as a computer hardware and network reseller in Queensbury, New York.

As the first company in the region to resell computer networks using Novell NetWare, Adktech delivered the area’s first file- and print-sharing solutions.

At the time, Adktech specialized in accounting systems, desktop publishing, high-resolution laser printers, and CAD systems for local companies such as Finch Pruyn, Genpak, Espey, local law offices, and countless others.

During the 1990s, Adirondack Technologies began developing professional software for desktops and networks, before the internet era itself.

Using newly developed Microsoft network standards, Adktech built one of the first dial-up networking solutions, setting the stage for dial-up services to the internet itself.

Shortly afterward, Adktech provided dial-up internet service to the greater Glens Falls region and began designing and hosting web sites under the name Adirondack Net.

Eventually, Adirondack Technologies divested itself of direct dial-up services to focus on improving the web design and hosting experience for its clients.

As time went on, Adktech turned its focus to database-driven web architectures that supported online commerce and regional tourism promotion, work that has continued into the 21st century.

Adktech has also built an extensive network of consulting and IT services, including security, software, and hardware installation.
